On January 28th 2013, the Irby's received a phone call stating that their son Zack had been in a terrible accident. He was airlifted to Wake Forest baptist hospital. Zack had been in an accident with a tractor trailer truck and the Irby's would later be told that their little boy had suffered from a traumatic brain injury.
The type of injury that Zack sustained was an axonal diffusal brain injury and doctors were unsure if he was going to make it past 72 hours... but he did. After Zack had made it past the 72 hour mark the doctors said that he would probably remain in a vegitative state for the rest of his life.... but he's not! Zack Irby is a 1 percent survivor and since his accident he has made miraculous improvements and it is all because Zack has a powerful God who has been fighting for Zack and taking care of him throughout this journey.
Zack has been moved to the Caronlina Rehabilitation center in Charlotte NC and he will be there until the doctors think that he is able to be taken home for his family to care for him. Zack's recovery has been tremendous so far but he still has a long road ahead of him. His full recovery will take about a year and that year will be full of doctors, rehab, and full time care.
This site is to help the Irby's with all of the medical bills that Zack will have, to help them cover the care that he needs and deserves.
Zack is a warrior. That is what his family has kept telling him. That God has made him a mighty warrior and that Jesus is bigger than life. The Irby's are believing and praying for a COMPLETE recovery.
The Irby's have made a way to donate money to help Zack through his recovery through pay pal. All of the money received through donations will go directly to all of Zack's medical expenses and to provide financial assistance for all of the physical rehabilitation that he will need through out the next year. If you would like to be apart of Zack's recovery please take some time and together we can all make this possible.
Most of all- Keep praying for Zack! Great things are happening!!
